Elegant and welcoming city Udine is the pulsating center of Friuli Venezia Giulia, a small town on a human scale
but which contains within itself a unique treasure of culture, nature and history. We are talking about a territory that is located right in the center of the eastern Friulian plain, and which from the sea across the plain, rises to the hills and the Alps, located just twenty kilometers from the current Slovenian border.
From the spectacular Piazza Libertà, witness to Friuli's long bond with the Republic of Venice, through medieval alleys and picturesque canals which also host the Max Mara corner shop, you arrive at the busiest streets of the city center Via Sarpi, with small shops local shops like Goodfellas and Grazie dei Fior.
This street then connects to Via Mercato Vecchio, the most beautiful pedestrian street in the historic center which under its arcades houses many luxury shops including Duca D'Aosta, Cumini City men, Cumini City women and accessories and Web City and Luisa Spagnoli.
Not far away is Piazza Matteotti, a sort of city lounge as it is the central point where the surrounding streets intersect and then you can stop to admire the Church of San Giacomo.
In this central square it is possible to find historic shops that tell a story of craftsmanship such as Bugatti men and Bugatti women, Paul Taylor, Femme and Lacoste, but also a contemporary touch given by the streetwear shops Scout and Plastic 2.
Via Cavour and Via Rialto instead, two parallel streets which are the most elegant streets of the city with the presence of Art Nouveau style and the town hall building, the Palazzo d'Aronco, present the shops of Elena Mirò and Spazio Querini and Max & Co.
Via Canciani, also connected to the aforementioned streets, has a pleasant covered walkway under the arcades, called Galleria Bardelli, and a street full of shops including the windows of United Colors of Benetton, Erbavoglio, Twinset, Falconeri, Lombarda Ahmodo, Liu Jo, Premium Boutique and Clarks.
In addition to the historic center, Udine also boasts the modern Città Fiera shopping center, located on the outskirts of the city. With its mix of shops, restaurants and entertainment, Città Fiera is an ideal place to spend a day of shopping and leisure in Udine.
In short, Udine is a strategically convenient city from every point of view, from the geographical distances from the sea and mountains to the practicality of being well located, allowing everyone, especially tourists, to find the main places of interest all within a short distance between them .
