Chief town of the Aosta Valley, the smallest region of Italy, Aosta is located near the most famous ski resorts and the Gran Paradiso National Park. It is called the "Rome of the Alps" because it is the second city, after the Capital, with the greatest number of Roman remains still visible, such as the Arch of Augustus, the Amphitheater and the various Roman gates. There are also many medieval castles, in the city and in the neighboring areas, which offer suggestive itineraries, through villages rich in ancient atmospheres. The city is under what is called "Tetto d’Europa", that is the mountainous territory of the highest peaks, the Alps: from the Cervino to the Gran Paradiso, from the Mont Blanc to the Monte Rosa.

It is an area rich in a priceless natural heritage, a popular destination for those who love nature, high altitude sports and outdoor life: many woodlands are home to numerous species of wild flora and fauna, which is why there are spoiled for choice for visiting one of the many nature reserves, including parks and lakes. Given the size and local characteristics, it is hardly surprising that the main economic resource is tourism: the main destinations for the ski destinations and not only, are the towns of Gressoney, Breuil-Cervinia and Courmayeur, the latter also famous for being a location glamor where you can do luxury shopping.

In fact, there are many opportunities for shopping in elegant boutiques, between an excursion and a downhill run! In the heart of Aosta, the main street is Via de Tillier Jean Baptiste where there are two multibrand boutiques not to be missed: G&B, a store located in various Italian cities, where you can find brands such as Burberry, Balenciaga, Alberta Ferretti and many others; the other store in which a visit is required is Leone, where you can buy both formal and casual, but also more sporty, with brands like K-Way and Timberland.

On Via de Tiller there is also the Napapijri mono-brand boutique, excellent for purchases of technical clothing before climbing to the top. Otherwise, if the sport is not for you, the High Floors boutique is located in Piazza Emile Chanoux: an elegant tailoring atelier, where you can shop in cashmere and find brands like Loro Piana, Reda and Ermenegildo Zegna. In the parallel Via Aubert, there is Farcoz Couture: a multi-brand store that can satisfy anyone's needs thanks to very different brands, from Adidas and Diadora to Burberry, Armani, Herno, Bluemarine and many others.

If at the end of the day the shopping has put you K.O., the Valley is also rich in very original culinary traditions, some with French origin and often also not very "light", given the high temperatures during the year. Do not miss the cheese fondues, polenta varieties and especially the Valdostana cutlet. For a snack instead, hot chocolate accompanied by some sweet is great to recover the energy.

Given the vicinity, it is advisable to also visit the towns near Aosta, especially Courmayeur which is among the most trendy destinations and hosts the best luxury single-brand stores such as Gucci, Moncler and Patagonia, as well as various multi-brands and stores that meet the needs of anyone.
