Vivienne Westwood - the English stylist who has revolutionized punk style.

Vivienne Westwood is the famous English designer, who turned into fashion the 50's punk style. Together with Malcolm McLaren she opened the first store in 1971 at 430 Kings Road, creating clothes for Teddy Boys.

Her first catwalk, the "Pirate" collection of 1981, made her famous and that's the turning point of her career: she entered the London fashion business and launched her brand all over the world. Pirate and oher collections like Savage (1982) and Buffalo (82-83) had a big influence on Japanese designers, such as Rei Kawakubo, Yohji Yamamoto, Margiela, Gaultier and many others.

She started being a dressmakers reproducing vintage models, but she turned into a real fashion designers, creating the look of the "Sex Pistols": the typical punk dress created to band members. Vivienne Westwood has been unique as a stylist in the ability of reconciling both music and fashion inside a clothing line.

Through its great success, Westwood nowadays has stores all over the world. In London we find the Flagship, the MAN Store, the Couture and the World's End.
The brand produces clothingaccessories, perfumes and jewelery with a target that includes man, woman and kids.

In recent years Vivienne Westwood has dressed numerous pop-singers: Lana del Rey, Katy Perry, and Gwen Stefani, her big fan.
In addition, in the movie "Sex and the City", she signed the wedding dress of the protagonist Carrie Bradshaw.
