Paul Smith in London, flagship stores of a British fashion icon.

Paul Smith fashion stores take their name from one of the most important british designers. Born in a small town in the Nottingham area in 1946 by a modest and laborious family, he was sent by his father to work in a clothing store. After an accident that breaks his dream to become a cyclist, Paul rediscovers his father's dressmaker's passion and begins to take the road to become a great stylist.

In 1970 he opened his first clothing store in Nottingham, along with his girlfriend, and today his wife, Pualine Denyer and in 1979 he came to London, precisely in Covent Garden where today are located the brand's headquarters.

Paul Smith has 13 monobrand stores in London, with other corners in departments stores such as Harrods, Selfridges & Co, and even as a retailer inside of Harvey Nichols.

Most distictived shop is located in the Mayfair area, at number 9 Albemarle Street: the facade made of cast iron impresses immediately, and the interior part of the store shows the main man and woman line. The design is minimal, but enriched with 60's style furniture and accessories: it is a shop that manages to convey the British style of the designer, who is able to reconcile modernity with tradition.

Nowadays, Paul Smith's line includes 12 lines: accessories, jeans, perfumes, watches, fur, interior decorations and offices, books, sculptures and a collection entirely dedicated to Japan.
