Founded as a family shop in 1849 by Charles Henry Harrod, today Harrods is one of the world's largest and most famous department stores and it has grown into a brand recognised all over the world. It is located on Brompton Road in Knightsbridge, London.
The company's motto is "Omnia, Omnibus, Ubique", which is Latin for "Everything, for everyone, everywhere", and it used to be known as the store where anything you could think of was for sale.
With more than 90,000 m2 of space, Harrods sells luxury and everyday items in a magnificently decorated building, that features seven floors and 330 departments and attracts 15 million customers each year. One of the most beautiful departments of the store is the Food Hall on the lower floor, decorated with tiles created by artist Williams James Neatby. Other impressive departments include the Egyptian Halls and the Crystal Rooms.
Harrods is one of the most exclusive department stores in the world. Products on offer include clothing for women, men, children and infants, electronics, jewellery, sporting gear, toys, food and drink, beauty items, packaged gifts, furniture, and much more.
