General Eyewear was founded in London in 1997 and it is a brand specalized in the production of prescription glasses and sunglasses. Glasses are realized and polished by masters and skilled artisans from England and France.

The brand holds people highly specialized and with deep knowledges of glasses design's history. This is an important aspect for the realization and to obtain extraordinary products, tailored and handmade with traditional techniques and materials.

General Eyewear offers also a personalized service, which consists in a series of consultations and opinion exchanges, and after this it starts the creation of products with a unique design, reflecting the taste of every single client. Among other services, it offers also: prescription lenses, specialized repair service, frame adjustment, glazing service for vintage and antique frames, order of colored sunglass lenses in any color or effect.

The window allows to glimpse a wide selection of handmade glasses, placed on several shelves inside of large illuminated glazes. On the lower shelf of every glaze, there are some handbooks, probably talking about glasses design's history.

In the adjacent room there is a real laboratory: there are wooden furnitures with glass for the exposition of some handmade pieces and that have different drawers, through which it is possible to find an extended range of glasses. In the middle of the room there are some glass furniture for the exposition of more precious pieces. The room is also full of books about glasses' design story and full of mirrors to try and choose the right design.

The entire laboratory is very bright and, through a big window, it is possible to see artisan's job, enlighted by big chandeliers from above. There is a vintage touch in the room, thanks to the rustic walls with exposed bricks together with the wooden floor, giving the particular style of an antique artisans laboratory.
