Ally Cappellino is a renowned English shop for its special leather bags.
It was born in 1980 by the collaboration of Allyson Lyoid and Jonathan Platt (now ex-husband) as an accessory company, but later expands into classic tailoring.
It has two stores in London: the first, inaugurated in 2005 at Shoreditch and the second at Portobello Road.
For more than 30 years, Ally Cappellino has been producing backpacks and bags for both men and women, relying on high quality materials: waxed cotton and Italian painted leather, which give the product a unique and rare look.
In recent years, the brand has had key collaborations with several companies, including in 2006 with Tate, producing products for artists such as pencils or papercards, and in 2008 with Apple to carry computer bags.
In 2014, the designer was honored with an honorary doctorate at the University of Hertfordshire School of Creative Arts for his contribution to fashion.
