Uma Wang is the first internationally recognized Chinese designer. After studying at the China Textile University in Shanghai and at Central Saint Martins College in London, Uma Wang starts working as a designer for some Chinese brands. After ten years of experience with local companies, during which she refines her techniques and defines her style, in 2005, Uma Wang debuted in London at PURE, the most important fashion trade event, presenting a ready-to-wear line that brings his name.
In 2011 she took part in Milan at the On Stage event organized by Milano Unica; and right here, in the Lombard capital, decided to present her next collections during the fashion week.
The UMA WANG brand can be defined as the result of emotions, feelings, impressions, journeys and people met in her life, but also of the fabrics and materials with which she engages every day. Her collections are a continuous reference to oriental and western cultures, a balanced mix of yin and yang elements: light shapes that mix and seem to be carved in the fabric, feminine garments and details of the male wardrobe, light colors and then deep and dark colors . His style also blends the ability to mix and match different types of fabrics, creating simple garments but at the same time imbued with unique details.
