Tory Burch is an American brand, founded by designer Tory Robinson in 2004 and which soon became one of the most popular and sought-after brands. Purely focused on women's fashion, the brand offers a line of Tory Burch women's clothing with a versatile and sensual taste, with coats and reversible jackets with simple and practical lines, knitwear and cardigans in cashmere or merino wool, flared skirts and dresses from chic patterns mixed with stripes and inserts, to tops in silk, devoré velvet or jersey and shirts with prints or more classic ones in cotton. Even the jeans of the brand as well as the pants, with particular applications or more simple and casual, always remain chic and elegant at the same time, through strong references to the bohemian style mixed with the luxury and quality of the materials, evident elements also in the women swimwear patterned and in cover-ups, focused on caftans and dresses in 100% cotton, with refined and sophisticated patterns. The collection includes a line of women's shoes, with monogram sneakers, boots, sandals with or without heels and the iconic Tory Burch ballerinas, up to bags with crossbody bags, totes, pochettes and wallets and the line of women's accessories by Tory Burch, with belts and scarves with monograms, and jewels with earrings, necklaces and bracelets also with logo.
Tory Burch's identity is enclosed in boho-chic influences, with hippie and ethnic references particularly visible in the iconic kaftans, dresses and colorful prints, therefore emblematic garments revisited in a comfortable and versatile key. Another distinctive element of the brand are the ballerinas with monogram, which have become a flagship element of Tory Burch, through which the feminine vision, elegant and sophisticated, but at the same time casual and hippy, is summarized. The identity promoted by Tory Burch therefore shares many aspects with the American woman, practical and refined, influenced by travel and the exotic and therefore the great popularity of the brand is not surprising, thanks also to prominent figures fond of it such as Oprah Winfrey, who already in 2005 nominated the brand as one of the best news, or even Michelle Obama and Hilary Clinton. Also noteworthy are the philanthropic activities implemented by the brand, as in the case of the Tory Burch Foundation, a no-profit organization in favor of women in the entrepreneurial sector and equal pay, or thanks to the inaugural nomination of the Presidential Ambassadors for Global Entrepreneurship by the Obama administration.
The Tory Burch brand was founded by the designer Tory Robinson, who after having worked first for Yugoslav Zoran and Harper's Bazaar, and later for Vera Wang, Polo Ralph Lauren and Loewe, decided to found her own brand to express her personal vision and aesthetics. It was on the occasion of New York Fashion Week in 2004 that Tory Robinson therefore launched the brand, initially under the name TRB by Tory Burch, and later renamed simply Tory Burch, flanked by the iconic logo with references to the preppy, which has always accompanies. The style proposed by the brand soon became popular in New York, managing to capture the style close to the boho chic of the period, then opening the first store in the Nolita district and reaching about 200 boutiques all over the world. In 2013 the brand launched its first fragrance and in 2015 Tory Burch's sportswear line called Tory Sport was produced. Following the launch of the brand's accessories line, for the Fitbit Flex activity tracking device, Tory Burch becomes the first fashion brand to introduce wearable technology. Designer Tory Robinson has been in full creative direction of the brand since 2004, supported by her husband Pierre-Yves Roussel, formerly of LVMH, in the role of general manager.
