Ribbon Clothing was born in Venice from the idea of designer Alfred Nastro in 2011 and puts together the infinite passion for craftsmanship with the concreteness of the best product.
The brand's goal is to produce clothing and footwear strictly handmade in Italy.
The prerogative of the brand is essential with decisive cuts; models inspired by northern European and Japanese style reinvented with a typically Italian taste. All products are created, cut and packaged by experienced craftsmen in Treviso and Verona using the best premium materials, such as Japanese Kurabo denim, Italian wool and cotton.
In 2014, the company launched a project of high quality handcrafted footwear, with the aim of further strengthening the identity of the Ribbon brand.
Good afternoon Alfred! How are you? Tell us when was Ribbon Clothing born? What have been the intuition that led you to the choice to launch the brand?
Ribbon is a project that emerges in the winter of 2011 from my own idea. I wanted to create something that had not yet been seen; a sartorial brand that would be lived at 360 degrees, which would become a real lifestyle. I have revisited models that have made the history of man fashion and have made them with the finest quality materials, such as Japanese canvases. I like to think that my garments are not only worn but have lived so much to have a story to tell.
What is the ideal customer of your products?
The man who chooses Ribbon loves the essence of matching, denim trousers, worn shirt and workwear inspired jacket in the sartorial key; we dress a modern gentleman who prefers the sleek and elegant colors like white, beige, Cognac brown, or timeless tones like celestial and blue jeans.
What makes it unique and distinctive, in its own way, Ribbon?
Ribbon is now known especially for the quality of our denim; imported from Japan, is cut and worked by experienced craftsmen of Veneto. Native nostalgic models that are revisited to make every piece modern, but leaving that heritage flavor that we like so much. The choice to specialize in denim is dictated by the passion...

What we can find of Made in Italy in your products and where do you find inspiration for your collections?
Taking a garment of the RIBBON collection, you notice the quality of the made in Italy. It is perceived by the care of the details: the quality of our packaging, the seam finishing (some of these made by hand) and the peculiarity of the hammered buttons are skidded to the eye.
I am convinced that clothing is an extraordinary means of communication! For this reason, having the opportunity and the need to travel frequently, I like to stop observing people. Everyone has their own style, everyone has a story to tell; so it's inspirational to me.
