Reebok is a British brand of sports apparel and footwear with headquarters today in USA, MAssachussets. The original name was Mercury Sports, and was renamed Reebok in 1958. It took its name from the Afrikaans-Dutch diction rhebok, a species of African antelope. The founders of the company Joe and Jeff Foster found the name "Reebok" in a dictionary won in a race by Joe Foster as a boy; the dictionary was South African edition, hence the spelling of the name. The brand was acquired in 2006 by the Adidas Group, which donated the brand new life and a new strategy.
The brand, basically is developed on two collections: Reebok, designed for the world of fitness and Reebok Classics, which revises and re-thinks in a modern way classic styles of the brand to sell them in the casual world, with models like the Instapump Fury, The Pump, the CL Leather, the Classic Club CL and C 85 and the Revenge.
Inside the world of fitness, Reebok has become the brand of choice for a sport increasingly popular as Crossfit, of which also organizes the Crossfit Games. We also add yoga and races like the Spartan Race of which it' s the main sponsor and organizes events and for which also made a specific line.
