Rains is a Danish lifestyle outerwear brand that has made the classic waxed raincoat its own and made it contemporary. The brand brings its neo-Scandinavian aesthetic with it, with unisex collections and a selection of designer rainwear. The Rains men's clothing collection combines functionality and modern design, and consists in waterproof jackets and quilted down jackets: an example is the "Rains Long" coat with hood and large pockets; its straight line with ventilation holes is also specially designed to make every movement easier. The Rains women's clothing collection follows the same common thread: an example is the elegant, fashionable and easy to wear "Belt Jacket". Alongside down quilted down jackets, coats and parkas, strictly drop repellent, the brand also offers backpacks, travel bags with zippers and rain hats, which make up the Rains men's accessories line which is joined by the women's accessories collection, while maintaining the same pieces. The brand therefore opens the windows onto a completely new world, in which days characterized by clouds and rainfall are perceived as something beautiful, introspective and unusually stimulating.
With styles influenced by the company's Scandinavian heritage, Rains prioritizes qualities such as simplicity, timelessness and excellent performance. Like most Danish designers, the brand believes that good and reliable rainwear shouldn't come at the expense of great design. Its collections therefore aim to blend a conceptual and functional design approach with a strong urban inspiration given by the unique palette of fabrics, inspired by the very environment in which the brand was born. Even the brand name "Rains" speaks of the simple and direct nature of the business, whose purpose is to give the possibility to recover from rainy days. Inclement weather should therefore not be just an inconvenience; it can also be a chance to have fun and show off your sense of style.
The co-founders of the brand, Philip Lotko and Daniel Brix, who grew up in cities famous for their textile diversity, met while studying at the TEKO design school. Soon after meeting, they decided they wanted to create a label firmly rooted in Danish tradition. The Rains brand takes its name from the notoriously inclement climate of Denmark: a country that faces about 170 rainy days a year. The raincoat is the company's signature piece, but this activity is about much more than staying dry. According to the co-founders, each collection challenges notions of rainwear and demonstrates that there is an opportunity to showcase style in any weather. From the day the company started they have always wanted to put a contemporary twist on the traditional raincoat making Rains a brand made by people for people.
