Our Legacy is a Swedish brand, capable of combining streetwear with avant-garde minimal. Founded in 2005, the brand offers lines with a sober taste, without ever neglecting quality and refinement of shapes. Initially conceived as a unisex brand, it then began to produce the Our Legacy women's clothing collection, from the oversized lines present in the knitwear and shirts, or with asymmetries for the classic-style skirts, combined with minimal t-shirts and polo shirts, but at the same time with refined materials, up to the coats, the leather sheepskin coats and the quilted jackets. The women's jeans and pants reflect the brand's philosophy, between transparent inserts and lines with a contemporary taste, capable of combining classic and modern. The brand also offers a line of women's accessories, with streetwear hats, belts, scarves and jewellery with a particular design, up to women's shoes, with sneakers and boots with or without heels and bags, including tote bags and crossbody bags. For the Our Legacy men's clothing collection there are also coats and shearling, jackets with transparencies, oversized cotton shirts, t-shirts with graphic prints and sweatshirts with an oversized and essential design. Men's knitwear therefore have a soft and relaxed fit, with classic details as well as for suits, pants and jeans. The men's collection is completed by men's accessories, with hats, belts and man's shoes with boots or lace-up shoes, up to jewelery and bags.
The identity of the brand is strongly influenced by the graphic past of the founders, visible especially through the prints and the design of the garments projected towards the future, with a particularly modern, essential and functional style, designed almost like an architecture, between asymmetries and use of multi-fabric. Such a futuristic vision obviously cannot fail to include the theme of sustainability in itself, the brand's garments are therefore designed to be used to the maximum of their function over time, which is why the style of Our Legacy is almost neutral and simple , but undoubtedly of quality also thanks to the reuse of materials. The artistic vision of the designer trio projects into the collections a philosophy close to art, cinema and the essence of the human being, creating harmonious, almost spiritual collections with timeless, classic and modern garments simultaneously, where even the selected models they are not a mirror of perfection, but rather an image of the concrete and real. The concept behind the brand is therefore that of lasting over time, both for the name and for the style, which draws from the past by adapting to the present, enhancing and transforming the heritage, almost as if it were an inheritance.
The Our Legacy brand was born in 2005, from the idea of the Swedish trio composed by Jockum Hallin, Christopher Nying and later Richardos Klarén. The initial project consists of selling a limited series of t-shirts, offering them to the best shops in Scandinavia, also through the knowledge of Klarén, who was in charge of sales for Acne Studios. The lines as simple as they are versatile, combined with a sophisticated design, allow the brand to sell the product well, resulting in customer loyalty to the brand. In 2007, the designers presented the first Our Legacy collection in Paris, marking the beginning of its international popularity. Thanks to the particular maniacal attention to the details of each single garment, capable of making any product special, Our Legacy boasts various collaborations, including the one with Vans, Dr. Martens and Stussy. The roles within the company, initially assumed simultaneously by all three founders, then sees Nying as creative director, Richardson as CEO of the company and Jockum for administration.
