Mou is an English brand, founded in 2002 by Shelley Tichborne and specialized in the production of footwear. With a focus on comfort combined with attention to design, the brand's proposal includes a collection of Mou women’s shoes, made with carefully selected materials, among the wide range of boots and ankle boots, including eskimo, made in suede and present in different colors and heights, always with a metal logo on the back. Then there is the proposal of sneakers, with rubber soles and present in different patterns, crocheted or in suede, as well as slippers, with or without platforms, up to sandals with padded microsuede footbed, and clogs in wood; all the models present are always characterized by the distinctive crochet stitching of Mou footwear. The feminine proposal continues with the Flatforms, flat shoes with or without platforms, decorated with microglitter, and leather loafer, where both models are handmade. The men's proposal of the brand offers a range of Mou men's shoes, with sneakers with or without laces, available in different heights and made of double-faced or suede sheepskin, with the possibility of choosing between platforms or low shoes, and still the eskimo boots, present in different heights including the eskimo 24, able to protect from the cold while guaranteeing comfort and aesthetics.
Shelley Tichborne's idea of a shoe capable of coping with harsh climates, aiming at the union of comfort, quality of materials and workmanship, thus creating footwear that is not only comfortable and functional, as well as aesthetically cured through the refinement of design and craftsmanship. The foundation of the Mou brand took place in 2002 in Portobello Road, one of the most fashionable areas of London, thanks to the idea of Shelley Tichborne, who began the creation of trendy, chic and environmentally friendly women's footwear. Thanks to the design, comfort and workmanship of the products, Tichborne’s project soon proved to be a winner, expanding production with a men's line and opening its own official website in 2011, the main sales channel for the brand’s prodoucts. Mou soon became synonymous with comfort, obtained thanks to natural leathers and soles made of EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate), collaborating in 2019 with Liberty London and in 2021 with The Woolmark Company, an Australian organization that promotes use of sustainable merino wool, creating a collection of shoes in natural merino wool. With several boutiques around the world, the brand offers footwear suitable for both summer and winter, the latter remaining the perfect season for a Mou shoe.
