The 8 Moncler Palm Angels collection was born as a collaboration between the Moncler brand and Palm Angels. Focused on unisex, the rebranding of the iconic pieces is evident from the first collection in 2019, inspired by punk and rave, up to the 2022 collection with the 90s Miami sportswear vibes. Among the gardments of the 8 Moncler Palm Angel men's clothing collection we see the reworking of Moncler's historic Maya down jacket using graffiti, collage, metallic pink texture and neon logo. For the 2022 collection, inspired by American sports uniforms, we instead see the application on jackets and quilted jackets of American basketball logos, entrenched textures with a bear patch, up to mirror-effect laminated nylon. The patch as well as the logos can also be found on t-shirts, sweatshirts, sweaters and men's shirts, as well as in men's accessories which include basketball or wool hats and gadgets such as key rings. For the 8 Moncler Palm Angels women's clothing collection, which has Naomi Campbell as the icon of the campaign, we find padded gilet, glitter or shiny jersey tracksuits also proposed for men, as well as pleated skirts and obviously women's accessories, with crystal glasses and quilted bags. Furthermore, for the men's shoes collection, between ankle boots and sneakers, there is the collaboration with Tod's for the rubber moccasin.
Conceived as a meeting point between different cultures and visions, as a media in an increasingly digitized society, Moncler Genius aims to bring together new young minds who, while maintaining their individuality, are required to reinterpret the essence of the brand. The project then continued based on the motto "one maison, different voices", carrying forward the creative ideas of the various selected designers, and reworked the identity of the Moncler brand.
It is therefore with the autumn/winter 2019-2020 line that 8 Moncler Palm Angels makes its debut under the guidance of designer Francesco Ragazzi, reinterpreting the stylistic canons of the Remo Ruffini brand and thus bringing Moncler closer to communication with the younger generations. With this collaboration, Moncler hit the mark, quickly making the pieces of the 2022 collection viral on Tik Tok, especially the Maya 70 Moncler by Palm Angels jacket, covered with optical fibers that emit light and of which only 700 pieces were produced, making the garment exclusive. 8 Moncler Pal Angels is therefore the result of the Moncler Genius project, launched in 2018, which aims to reinterpret the brand's iconic garments in a contemporary way while maintaining the brand's pillars such as lines, design, volumes or Made in Italy craftsmanship.
