Introduced in 2005, the house’s contemporary unisex brand McQ adapts McQueen’s irreverent and quintessentially British experimentation into a zeitgeist-capturing uniform for modern youth.
The accoutrements of counterculture rebellion and urban streetwear, from leather biker jackets and oversized intarsia sweaters to MA-1 bomber jackets and high-top sneakers, are outfitted with of-the-moment silhouettes, while reconstructed t-shirts, distressed jeans, badge-embellished denim jackets, and patchwork logo t-shirts evoke the provocative DIY aesthetic of bygone youth subcultures.
McQueen’s iconic imagery, including razorblades, skulls, and dark florals appear alongside McQ’s new icons, such as its swallows, ‘Glyph’ logo, and ‘Bunny’ graphics to refine the line’s range of casual urbanwear, including sweatshirt dresses, neoprene hoodies, luxe lounge pants, slip-on sneakers, and leather combat boots.
