Among the most creative talents of his generation, the calabrian designer Giuseppe Di Morabito, born in 1992, founded his homonymous brand in Milan in 2015. The brand takes inspiration from art, iconography, the aesthetics of past eras and reinterprets them in a contemporary and international key. The designer plays with a sense of elegant bizarreness, creating garments that vary from prêt-à-porter to more sophisticated ones. Key items of the brand, such as ethereal blouses and fluttering dresses, appeal to a young female audience that rejects the classic ideals of femininity. The Giuseppe Di Morabito women’s line is in fact characterized by a tailoring strictly Made in Italy, use of high quality fabrics and a refined choice of embroidery.
Selected by Vogue Italia and important figures of the fashion-system, Giuseppe Di Morabito presented his first collection Spring/Summer 2016 at the Who is On Next!? talent, enchanted the jury thanks to its unique and personal style. The artistic value of its collections lies in the study and in a intense interpretation of historical and visual elements. The brand respects tradition by updating it, but constantly renewing and modernizing its stylistic identity.
In 2016 the designer represented Italy, for the womenswear section, at the European edition of the International Woolmark Prize, coming among the finalists and capturing top Italian buyers such as Imarika, La boutique di Adani, Fiacchini and Divo.
