At a time of great interest the Côte & Ciel 'backpack' object represents one of the most original and less ordinary realities on the scene.
Just a glance to understand that we are faced with something different, which transpires an innovative design, capable of striking, without necessarily making use of who knows what colors and patterns.
Côte & Ciel is a Parisian brand, based in the Marais, which started out as a project commissioned by Apple, then developed in collaboration with Damir Doma and today has become a real company with a team consisting of artists, stylists, engineers and designer with the aim of rethinking shapes and design of bags and accessories for the transport of modern devices, with a minimalistic approach that draws strong inspiration from the natural world and the surrounding environment.
Côte & Ciel has rethought the backpack, which looks like a kind of monolith, as if it were a scale version of what Obelix was carrying on his shoulders. The most interesting models are undoubtedly Isar and Nile, which represents the evolution of Isar himself, capable of reinventing the shape of the classic backpack, transforming it into a kind of ovoid stone that varies in proportions and materials. And indeed, the inspiration comes right from the rocks as in the Nile Rucksac Basalt model, where colors and shapes derive from basalt stones, typical of the Nile area.
