The buttero is the shepherd on horseback typical of Maremma, whose name derives from the greek word boútoros, or “who goads the oxen”. With some approximation can be considered as the Italian equivalent of the cowboy, riding on the typical horse of the area, Maremmano. Buttero's soul is exactly this, devoted to work, intimately linked to horse riding and traditions and hills of Tuscany, a region, in which the shoes are always made of great value.
