Buscemi is a brand that has become part of the luxury streetwear and sneaker brands in the world. This brand, based in Los Angeles, deals mainly with sneakers and leather goods and it is led by the man, who gave it the name, Jon Buscemi, a fanatic collector of sneakers, who worked on Wall Street and who in 2002 devoted himself to his great passion, thanks to the proposal to become trend forecaster for DC Shoes.
In a particular moment of his new experience, after having worked on the project for Gourmet, he had a winning intuition, a shoe that has in some way distorted the rules of fashion: "Who would have thought that a man would have put at the foot a shoe emulating a famous handbag? ". Yes, Jon's sneakers were inspired by the mythical Hermés bags, complete with a strap around the ankle closed by a padlock, keyring and handle above the heel. Details were worthy of a Kelly or a Birkin, we are talking about shoes with hand-painted edges, accessories in 18 kt gold and leather coming from the best Italian tanneries.
Initially 600 copies were made in three colors, white - black - red: powdered in a very short time, sold even before reaching the few outlets. Since then, Buscemi sneakers have been sold by major stores all over the world and in just one season the number of retailers has risen from 18 to 40, including Barneys and Kith in New York, Colette in Paris and Harvey Nichols in London. The range has expanded with a series of models ever wider, for men, women and children and numerous limited editions.
