Ann Demeulemeester is a belgian fashion designer, who graduated at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, in Antwerp in 1981, and in 1985 she launched her namesake label in collaboration with her husband, the photographer Patrick Robyn.
She was one of the first designers to show off both men's and women's collections in a single fashion show. Ann Demeulmeester has built an important business around her collections of gothic and bohemian inspiration, and is famous for her minimalist and androgynous style, combining elements of men's fashion with the feminine wardrobe.
In 2013, Ann Demeulmeester leaves her brand, which however continues to grow with the new creative director Sebastien Meunier.
