All clothes are characterized by a very high attention to details: Matthew Williams is constantly looking for the quality of the raw material, thus creating a creatively unique combination with a strong visual impact.
On one hand, the aesthetic of the brand is inspired by the Californian and New York subculture, both belonging to Matthew Williams' background. On the other hand, he is also influenced by art, music and photography, worlds that strongly fascinate the designer.
The detail that made 1071 ALIX 9SM an iconic and highly recognizable brand is the "Rollercoaster" closure inspired by mountaineering hooks which, once reinvented in their design, have found a new collocation, thus becoming belts and finishes of many of the brand's garments.
To date 1017 ALYX 9SM boasts in its personal career highly important collaborations with Nike, Dior, Moncler and Mackintosh.
